Sustainable design

At Wine With a View we take a careful look at all the materials we use and curate as much as possible our local suppliers. We want to make sure the experience is as authentic as possible and that sustainability is at the core of our offering.
One of the major materials we use in our motorcycles is cork. Portugal is the major producer of cork in the world and this material is deeply connect to wine, so we decided it should be part of the design of our points of sale.
Our supplier of cork is Sofalca, a company with deep expertise in cork production for special purposes, and for Wine With a View, only the cork from the branches was used to manufacture the cork granules we use in our motorcycles. No additives are used in the process and the technology, developed by Sofalca, consists of injecting water vapor through the pellets that expand and agglutinate with the resins of the cork itself.
This “cooking” process results in the beautiful chocolate color of the agglomerated we have in our motorcycles. For the production of steam only locally sourced biomass is used, and no waste is produced.
This super-material, cork, offers so many advantages, because in addition to being an excellent thermic and acoustic insulation, it has strong ant vibration properties, and is also a CO2 sink playing a key role in the environment. We love our cork, and it looks great on our Wine With a View motorcycles!
