It had always been my dream to run my own business, to do something that excites me, to make a difference. While I was searching for the perfect idea with that special sparkle, I had never thought that it would end up being a wine-related business. Not because I’m not passionate about wines, no, I really am a true Wine-Lover and especially Portuguese ones have stolen my heart. However, I did not imagine myself with a traditional wine bar or anything of this kind.

Desde sempre que tinha sido o meu sonho ter o meu próprio negócio, fazer algo que me faz vibrar, fazer a diferença. Enquanto estava a procura da ideia perfeita, com aquele brilho especial, nunca me tinha passado pela cabeça que iria acabar por ser um negócio relacionado com vinhos. Não que não seja apaixonada por vinhos, antes pelo contrário, sou uma verdadeira Wine-Lover e principalmente os vinhos portugueses conquistaram o meu coração. Porém, não me imaginava com um bar de vinhos tradicional ou algo desse género.
The inspiration for Wine With a View as we know it now came to me when I imagined all the wonderful places in Lisbon and their fabulous views, that invite you to take a break, sit back and soak up the environment. And adding a glass of delicious Portuguese wine to that marvelous scenery was that special touch to turn a simple moment into a fulfilling, heartwarming and special memory.

A inspiração para a Wine With a View como a conhecemos hoje surgiu-me quando imaginei todos os lugares maravilhosos de Lisboa e as suas vistas fabulosas, que convidam a fazer uma pausa, descontrair e simplesmente absorver o ambiente. E adicionar um copo de um delicioso vinho português a este cenário magnífico foi aquele toque especial para tornar um momento simples numa memória gratificante, especial e emocionante.
I am truly in love with Portuguese wine, Portugal itself and all its absolutely gorgeous landscapes, places, people, but also its values, its authenticity and its wonderful products that are made with so much love and I wanted to share all of this with as many people as possible, so they can feel what I feel, when I hold a glass of Wine With a View, while contemplating, breathing in and overlooking the whole city that I love so much, from the walls of the Castle.

Sou verdadeiramente apaixonada por vinho português, Portugal em si e por todas as suas paisagens, lugares e pessoas absolutamente fantásticas, mas também pelos seus valores, sua autenticidade e os seus produtos maravilhosos que são feitos com tanto amor. E eu quis partilhar tudo isso com todas as pessoas que nos visitam para que elas possam também sentir o que eu sinto, quando seguro num copo de Wine With a View, enquanto contemplo, inspiro e olho para a cidade que tanto amo, sentada nas muralhas do Castelo.
In our hectic everyday lives there is so much stress, we are always late, always on the run, doing 18 things at a time. We can’t even think of life without cell phones, emails and social networks, always being reachable and never resting.

Na nossa vida diária caótica há tanto stress, estamos sempre atrasados, sempre a correr, a fazer 18 coisas ao mesmo tempo. Nem conseguimos imaginar a nossa vida sem telemóvel, email e redes sociais, sempre conectados e nunca descansados.
This is why I wanted to create something that encourages people to take a step back, to just sit down and relax, and really, actually enjoy the moment. To sip on a glass of fabulous wine and just breath and let the surroundings fill our eyes and hearts with pure happiness. To engage in a full sensorial experience, watching the sun kiss the river far down the hill, mesmerizing the magical colors this moment brings out, listening to the birds singing, to the sound of little children’s feet clumsily walking over the pebble stones, to the bits of vivid conversation held in a language we don’t understand… feeling the warm sun on our skin, and the wind softly stroking our cheeks… smelling the scents of the city, the fruitiness of the wine in our hand and tasting its unique sweetness, melting in the mouth. The Views, the surroundings, the context and especially the people who are sharing the moment with us, are as important, or maybe even a little bit more, as the wine itself! At Wine With a View we don’t just sell wine… we sell experiences, special moments and memories, that last and prevail.

É por isso que quis criar algo que incentivasse as pessoas a abrandar, sentar e relaxar e realmente aproveitar o momento. A dar um gole de um copo de vinho fabuloso e apenas respirar e deixar o ambiente encher os olhos e o coração de felicidade pura. A deixarem-se envolver por uma experiência sensorial completa, observando o sol a beijar o rio bem la ao fundo da colina, admirando as cores mágicas que este momento traz, ouvindo os pássaros a cantar, o som dos pés das pequenas crianças a correrem desajeitadamente nas pedrinhas soltas e os bocados de conversa animada duma língua que não percebemos... sentindo o sol caloroso na nossa pele e o vento suavemente passando na nossa bochecha... cheirando os aromas da cidade, o cheiro frutado do vinho na nossa mão e provando a sua doçura única, derretendo na boca. As Vistas, o envolvimento, o contexto e especialmente as pessoas que estão a partilhar esse momento connosco, são tão importantes, ou talvez até um pouco mais, que o próprio vinho! Na Wine With a View não vendemos apenas vinho... vendemos experiências, momentos especiais e memórias, que duram e prevalecem.
I believe that to be able to create all of this, every single detail counts, which is why I care so much about the image of the carefully designed and customized wine trucks, about training the team, who not only have a broad knowledge about wine but are also very welcoming, charming, helpful and, most importantly, always have a smile on their faces!

Eu acredito que para ser capaz de criar tudo isso cada detalhe conta, e é por isso que me preocupo tanto com a imagem das motas cuidadosamente desenhadas e personalizadas, com o treino da equipa, que não só tem um conhecimento abrangente sobre vinho mas também são muito calorosos, hospitaleiros, prestáveis e, sobretudo, têm sempre um sorriso na cara!
For that reason, over the years we have created so many special bonds with the wonderful guests who visit us and end up becoming Wine With a View Ambassadors, keeping in touch over our social networks, sending us pictures and filling us with pride and happiness through their feedbacks on Facebook or Tripadvisor. We want to celebrate our guests digitally, so we post pictures of their experience at Wine With A View and their own photos they share with us.

Por essa razão, ao longo dos anos temos criado tantas relações especiais com os nossos visitantes maravilhosos que acabam por se tornar em Embaixadores Wine With a View e continuam a ficar ligados a nós através das redes sociais, enviando-nos fotografias e enchendo-nos de orgulho e felicidade com os seus feedbacks no Facebook ou Tripadvisor. And still, if someone had told me that I would create so many meaningful and intense relationships with guests whose experiences at Wine With a View were so personal, emotional and important… I wouldn’t believe it! It is just unbelievable to see that there are so many people who carry their memories of Wine With a View in their hearts, with such a big impact on their whole holiday or even more than that.

E ainda assim, se alguém me tivesse dito que iria criar tantas relações significativas e intensas com visitantes cujas experiências na Wine With a View foram tão pessoais, emocionais e importantes... Eu não acreditaria! É simplesmente inacreditável ver que há tantas pessoas que levam as suas memórias da Wine With a View nos seus corações, com tanto impacto nas suas viagens ou até mais do que isso.
Last weekend, I finally met one of our very first Wine With a View Ambassadors, Alexandra, in person – after almost 4 years! She had come to Wine With a View in 2014 and has been connected to us ever since, taking her glass wherever she goes and sending us the most wonderful, perfect photos. Even after I had sent her new ones, because hers was all scratched already, she told me that that very first glass is the one that takes her back to her first special Wine With a View experience, every time she looks at it. How wonderful is that?!

No fim de semana passado, finalmente conheci uma das nossas primeiras Embaixadoras Wine With a View, a Alexandra, pessoalmente - depois de quase 4 anos! Ela tinha vindo à Wine With a View em 2014 e tem estado ligado a nós desde então, levando o seu copo onde quer que vá e envia-nos as fotografias mais maravilhosas e perfeitas. Mesmo depois de lhe ter enviado copos novos, porque os dela já estavam todos riscados, ela disse-me que aquele primeiro copo é o tal que a transporta sempre para aquela primeira experiência Wine With a View, cada vez que olha para ele. Quão maravilhoso é isso?!
She was here this weekend and even though the weather was quite harsh, rainy and windy, I really needed to make this happen, and so we opened Wine With a View just so I could share a glass of wine with her and get to know this truly inspiring person!

Ela esteve cá este fim de semana e apesar do tempo estar bastante chuvoso e ventoso, eu realmente precisava de fazer isto acontecer e então abrimos a Wine With a View só para poder partilhar um copo de vinho com ela e conhecer esta pessoa verdadeiramente inspiradora!
Unfortunately, due to the really bad weather, there was not enough time to meet Kelly and Colleen, but I am sure next time we will find a way!
I was so lucky and truly grateful that I also got to meet Isil from Turkey on Tuesday and Maria from Russia a few weeks ago, who brought me some amazing russian chocolate. All of you are wonderful Wine With a View Ambassadors and it fills my heart with so much happiness to have crossed paths with you!

Infelizmente, devido ao muito mau tempo, já não havia tempo para conhecer a Kelly e a Colleen, mas tenho a certeza de que na próxima vamos encontrar uma maneira!
Estava muito sortuda e verdadeiramente grata por ter tido oportunidade de conhecer a Isil da Turquia na terça-feira e a Maria da Rússia há umas semanas, que me trouxe um chocolate russo absolutamente delicioso!
