  Wine With a View was a proud supporter of the Official Portuguese Davos event at 2018’s World Economic Forum in Davos, an annual meeting of global political, cultural and business elites. Meet the Baga Grape

Wine With a View is a big fan of the Baga grape. It is the prime red grape variety in Bairrada and its typical aromas range from forest fruits, plums to coffee and lead to a dark color. Baga matures easily with good sun exposure and produces dark wines with concentrated aromas that ages very well in the bottle. At our Wine With a View trucks and also online, we feature the Aliança Sparkling Bruto and Rosé, which are some of the best examples of a sparkling Baga wine.   To celebrate the 870th anniversary of the conquest of Wine With a View’s flagship location, the Saint George’s Castle, the Swiss watch company Tissot launched an exclusively Portuguese special edition. Newsflash: And the Oscar goes to... Portugal!

In this year’s edition of the World Travel Awards, also known as the Oscars of Tourism, Portugal won the best tourism destination of the World! This is the first time ever that an European country has been awarded with this distinction. Portugal outpaced competitors such as Brazil, Greece, USA, Spain, Vietnam and the Maldives. In total, 17 countries were nominated for the award, Portugal making it into the list for having won, in September, Best European Destination.
